About

Hi there. I’m Margaret. Life’s a Dance began as a Facebook page — my own creative sandbox — in 2012. The name was a spontaneous and intuitive choice because dance has always been a metaphor for my life. I learned to dance as a little girl on my father’s feet. There was always music in our house. My sister and I were always dancing together.

When you dance, you’re moving through space taking note of the ground under your feet and the things around you, whether those are people (who are also moving) or fixed objects, and obstacles. So dance is a joy, but it’s also a practice. One for which we must be agile, graceful, confident, spiritual, and strong. One’s dancing changes. We may improve our agility, or change our style; we may have to modify our pace if we are injured. We dance differently with a partner than we do if we are alone. It’s all part of the dance.

I was a poet from the time I could scribble on a page. It was only in my final year of college when I was preparing to apply to law school that I considered journalism as a career, and only because a mentor suggested the idea. Fast forward to the present. I’ve spent more than 25 years in journalism and corporate communications. I raised three kids, who are all out on their own now. And now I have time to give form to my creative impulses — inspirational posts, writing, art, and jewelry.

In September 2021, I published ✨The Art of Dancing in the Rain ❤️ ✨ ⭐️  on Amazon.

It’s a joyful time.  I would love to hear from you!

Margaret
